This building addition was a storm shelter that was utilized as STEM and standard classroom configurations. The school request was to have the addition match the existing building brick color and pattern.

Designing a tornado shelter to FEMA standards is as close to being a physician an architect can be simply because its purpose is to save lives. Designed to offer near-absolute protection is the standard. Matching the new brick to the existing sun faded brick was resolved with multi-color blends and a few site visits with the mason.
